Part 1: Avion Rewards Points Value per Canadian Dollar

  • Travel: 172 Avion Points = $ 1 CAD, so 1 Avion Point ≈ $ 0.0058 or 0.58 cents per point for travel redemptions.
  • Merchandise, Gift Cards, Financial Products: Similarly, 172 Avion Points = $ 1 CAD, translating to about 0.58 cents per point.

Part 2: Avion Rewards Points Value per 100 Canadian Dollars

  • All Redemptions: About 34,400 Avion Points for $ 200 CAD, or 17,200 Points for $ 100 CAD, based on the 172 points for $ 1 CAD rate.

Part 3: Summary for Best Value

To achieve the best value from the RBC® IONᐩ Visa Card:
  • Maximize Bonus Categories: Spend more in categories where the card offers higher points earning rates to accumulate points faster.
  • Use for Travel: Despite the lower redemption rate, using points for travel can still provide good value, particularly for budget trips or when combined with other offers.
  • Petro-Points Conversion: Convert Petro-Points to Avion points for potentially better redemption value.
