2. Flexible reward points

Earning rewards with HSBC is straightforward. You earn 3 points for every $1 you spend on the card and 6 points when you spend it on travel.

Each point is worth 0.5 cents for travel, giving you a return of 3% on travel and 1.5% on everything else.

 3. $100 travel enhancement credit.

4. Comprehensive travel insurance

The card offers comprehensive travel insurance, making it convenient for frequent travelers. Each cardholder and dependent are covered up to $1 million per person for up to 31 days during each trip. You and your spouse must be under 65 to receive this coverage.

In addition to medical insurance, cardholders will also receive baggage delay or baggage loss coverage amounting to $750 per insured person. This protects against loss or damage theft, burglary, and fire or transportation hazards during your trip.  

In addition, cardholders who charge at least 75% of their trip expenses to the card will be covered for trip cancellations and delays. Cards holders can expect to receive a reimbursement of up to $2,000 per insured person with a maximum of $5,000 per trip if their trips are canceled or delayed.

HSBC also offers customers Purchase Protection for 90 days on purchases. This protects against theft, damage, and loss of your purchases.

Lastly, cardholders also receive an Extended Warranty on most purchases for up to one additional year, which doubles the manufacturer’s warranty.

The downside of HSBC World Elite Mastercard

HSBC World Elite Mastercard have a high income requirement. To apply, you need a personal income of $80,000 or a household income of $150,000.
